Location

Playa Blanca is the southern most resort of the island and therefore benefits from maximum sunshine. Once a small fishing village, Playa Blanca has developed into a vibrant resort, while managing to maintain much of its character.

Benefits

It has many advantages for those looking for sun, sea, sand as well as many excellent cafes, restaurants (many of which host the catch of the day), bars, shops and supermarkets on the seafront and in the pedestrianised town centre.
For those with a more active holiday in mind, thereีs plenty of leisure and water sport activities to be found locally, in addition to the wide variety found elsewhere on the island
From the coastline you can see across to Fuerteventura, which is only half an hour away by hydrofoil from the port of Playa Blanca.

Although there is lots to see and do, Playa Blanca has a very relaxed atmosphere and is great for families and couples. The town is very friendly and calm and is a great place in which to relax and unwind.

Although car hire is not essential for an enjoyable holiday, for those wishing to make the most of the local area and to explore the island, there are many beautiful and interesting places to visit. The island is quite small and you can drive to the north in about an hour but you must take time to stop off along the way to enjoy Lanzarote's varied natural attractions including the sensational volcanic Timanfaya National Park; the La Geria vineyard area; the old farming museum at Tiagua and the Tequise old town (with it's famous Sunday market). Take the delightful drive through Haria and the valley of the thousand palm trees to Mirador del Rio at the northern tip to enjoy the most spectacular view across to the island of La Graciosa. On your return, visit the caves at Jameos del Aqua; the cactus garden; Cesar Manrique's spectacular volcanic home & art gallery and finish off with a drink and meal at one of the fabulous marinas at Puerto Calero, or our local Puerto Rubicon.
